8 people have been arrested for working illegally in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, conducted raids to combat illegal employment in the provinces of Nicosia and Limassol. During the operation, eight individuals who were working in the country without permission were arrested.

The first operation was carried out in the province of Nicosia by officers of the Migration and Immigration Service (IA&M) in Morphou, with the participation of the Morphou police department and inspectors from the Ministry of Labour. During the raid at a construction site, seven individuals working illegally were identified and arrested.

One of them presented the police with a fake identity card. He was also charged with illegal residence in Cyprus. Ministry of Labour inspectors are conducting an investigation into the employer of the detained individuals.

During the second operation, which took place in Limassol, IA&M members and Ministry of Labour inspectors checked a workshop that was involved in cleaning a multi-apartment building. One person who was working illegally and presented a fake identity card was detained.

The police's actions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, to combat illegal employment continue daily in Cyprus.
