Air Astana launches direct flights from Kazakhstan to Cyprus

Kazakh airline Air Astana began operating regular direct flights on the Astana — Larnaca route on 2 June 2026. Flights from Kazakhstan's capital to Cyprus are operated twice a week — on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The journey time is 5 hours 40 minutes.

From 4 June, the carrier will launch another direct route to Cyprus — from Almaty to Larnaca. Flights on this route will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, and the flight time will be 6 hours 5 minutes. Flights on both routes are operated on Airbus A321LR aircraft and will run as part of the summer schedule until the beginning of September.

To enter the Republic of Cyprus, Kazakh citizens still need a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa or a Cypriot national visa. The launch of direct air service coincides with the first official visit of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to Kazakhstan to strengthen bilateral relations.
