Alpha Bank Cyprus sponsors 9th shipping forum in Limassol
Alpha Bank Cyprus sponsored the 9th Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum, which took place on February 17 at Columbia Plaza in Limassol, Cyprus. The forum was held under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry of Cyprus and brought together leaders from the shipping, banking, and capital markets sectors.
During the panel session "Capital at Sea: The State of Ship Finance," the bank was represented by Dr. Nikolaos Kangarakis, Senior Relationship Manager for Shipping Finance at Alpha Bank Group. According to him, the ship finance market is becoming more demanding, with rising capital costs and stricter evaluation criteria.
Special attention at the forum was given to sustainability-linked financing and transition targets, as compliance with environmental standards directly affects capital structure, pricing, and availability. The discussion also highlighted resilience, fleet quality, and strategic adaptability as key factors for securing access to finance in the coming years.
Through its participation in such events, Alpha Bank Cyprus reaffirms its commitment to supporting the shipping sector and contributing to a sustainable and competitive future for the international shipping industry.
