American Official Arrives in Cyprus for Humanitarian Mission

On Tuesday, July 30, Juliet Valls Noyes, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration, arrives in Cyprus on a humanitarian mission.

During her visit, Valls Noyes is scheduled to meet with high-ranking government and international officials. She will also visit sites involved in providing humanitarian aid to refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable populations in the region. After Cyprus, she will travel to the United Kingdom.

The U.S. State Department has stated that the Republic of Cyprus is a valuable humanitarian partner. The United States continues to work closely with the Cypriot government, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and other organizations to strengthen protection mechanisms and assist those in greatest need.

In a post on X, U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher expressed eagerness for the meeting with Valls Noyes to discuss a broad range of humanitarian issues in the region.

After her visit to Cyprus, Juliet Valls Noyes will travel to London, where she will meet with senior officials from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, as well as the Home Office, to discuss ongoing coordination between the two countries on global humanitarian issues.
