August begins with heat: temperatures of up to 41 degrees expected in Cyprus

The first day of August in Cyprus will be very hot — air temperatures in the central areas of the island will rise to 41 degrees. The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning due to the extreme heat.

The warning is in effect on Saturday, 1 August, from 14:00 to 16:30. The highest temperature is expected in the inland areas of the island — around 41 degrees. On the coast, temperatures will reach 32–36 degrees, while in the mountains they will rise to approximately 32 degrees.

Predominantly clear skies are expected today. Winds will be south-westerly and north-westerly, light to moderate — 3–4 on the Beaufort scale.

At night, temperatures will drop to around 24 degrees in the central areas and on the coast, and to 19 degrees in the mountains.

According to forecasters, predominantly clear weather will continue on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. No significant change in temperature is expected — it will remain above the climatic average for this period.
