Four people nearly drowned at sea in Limassol

On the evening of 23 July, a dangerous incident occurred at Molos Beach in Limassol — four people found themselves in trouble between two breakwaters and began calling for help.

Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene on a jet ski. Two holidaymakers were trying to cope with the waves, while two others were about 15 metres away from them — one of the men was keeping his friend, who had already lost his strength, afloat.

The rescuers pulled the man out of the water and provided him with first aid on the shore. The victim regained consciousness, but was taken to Limassol Hospital after swallowing a large amount of water.

The Limassol Lifeguard Service reminded holidaymakers to exercise caution near breakwaters and follow the instructions of lifeguards.
