Producer prices of agricultural products in Cyprus rose by 5.4% year on year in the first quarter of 2026, while prices of agricultural inputs and investments fell by 2.62%. The data was published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat).

The index of prices of intermediate consumption and investments in agriculture stood at 121.37 points, based on 2020 being set at 100. The sharpest decline was recorded in the prices of seeds and planting material, which fell by 19.4%, as well as electricity, which fell by 10.95%. At the same time, motor vehicles and tractors became 16.5% more expensive, while agricultural materials rose in price by 8.23%.

The producer price index for agricultural products reached 134.24 points. In crop production, it stood at 156.20 points, increasing by 7.09% year on year: tomato prices rose by 90%, apple prices by 29.5%, while seedlings became 19.4% cheaper.

In livestock production, the producer price index stood at 124.38 points, up 4.55% year on year. Beef prices rose by 59%, while pork prices fell by 15.4%.

CyStat makes all comparisons with the first quarter of 2025, while 2020 serves as the base year for both indices.
