Burglars beaten during robbery
Police arrested two people aged 23 and 39 to assist with the investigation into a case of conspiracy, building entry and theft.
At around 3:15 pm yesterday, police received information about an ongoing break-in at a non-residential house in Limassol (Germasoyeia area). Officers who arrived at the scene found two people aged 23 and 39 in the backyard of the said house.
During a search of the premises inside the building, dismantled air conditioners, various tools, as well as bags containing cables and pieces of copper were found. Both men were arrested on the basis of court warrants and remanded in custody.
It should be noted that the 39-year-old detainee stated that before the police officers arrived, the house owner together with a second person attacked him and caused bodily harm. He was taken to the emergency department of Limassol General Hospital, where he received medical treatment, after which he was returned to custody.
Today, the Limassol District Court issued a five-day remand order. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) continues to investigate the case.
