Inflation in Cyprus rose to 0.5% in June
According to data published today by Eurostat, inflation in Cyprus rose to 0.5% year-on-year in June. However, it remains one of the lowest among EU countries.
In May, the inflation rate on the island was 0.4%, while in June last year it stood at 3%.
According to Eurostat, inflation across Europe for the month of June is expected to be 2.0%.
The highest annual inflation rate in Europe is recorded in the services sector: 3.3%. May: 3.2%. This is followed by food, alcohol and tobacco: 3.1% compared to 3.2% in May.
Inflation in non-energy industrial goods stood at 0.5% (May: 0.6%), while the energy sector continued to show a negative figure: -2.7%. In May, it was -3.6%.
