Power outages occurred in Cyprus due to a technical fault
This morning, several areas of the Republic of Cyprus experienced a brief power outage due to a technical fault in the generation system.
According to the Cyprus Transmission System Operator, the malfunction occurred at 08:05. As a result of the incident, the ESK41 generating unit at the Vasiliko power plant, operating at a load of 51 MW, was taken out of service. This led to the automatic disconnection of some consumers in various areas of the island.
Power engineers managed to quickly eliminate the последствия of the incident. By 08:17, electricity supply to all affected consumers had been fully restored.
