Cyprus and Greece to jointly develop combat drones
Greece and the Republic of Cyprus plan to jointly develop a strike unmanned aerial vehicle under the European SAFE programme, aimed at developing the defence industries of EU countries.
The Greek Kerveros strike drone could serve as the basis for the project after recently successfully completing combat trials. During the tests, the unmanned aircraft launched fifth-generation Akeron MP anti-tank missiles, confirming the effectiveness of its control, navigation and weapons systems.
The project is expected to receive funding from the European Union. If approved, Cyprus and Greece will begin joint production of advanced strike drones and expand cooperation in defence technology.
