Cyprus investigates complaint about unanswered emergency service calls
The Cyprus Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) has launched an investigation following a complaint about a possible failure in the operation of the emergency service.
A message previously appeared on social media claiming that calls to 112 and the ambulance service had allegedly gone unanswered.
OKYPY said it had taken the information under consideration and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. Specialists are examining the history of the phone calls and the actions taken after the appeal.
Information about the previously mentioned visit to an emergency department is also being checked to establish whether it concerned a state medical institution.
The organisation stressed that such reports are treated seriously and that the investigation is being conducted to establish all the circumstances.
The results of the investigation have not yet been reported.
