A Book by the Sea: Street Libraries Launched on Two Protaras Beaches
Street libraries have been installed on two of Protaras' main beaches for those who enjoy reading by the water. The Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality took an original approach to the design: the free book exchange cabinets are made in the shape of small boats.
Now holidaymakers can take any book they like right on the coast, read it on a sunbed, and when leaving — return it to its place or leave their own in exchange. The authorities hope that this initiative will make beach leisure more varied and promote reading among residents and tourists.
