The number of building permits in Cyprus increased by 35% in the first four months of 2026. From January to April 2026, 2,915 building permits were issued, compared with 2,157 during the same period last year.
The total value of projects for which permits were issued increased by 46.1% to €1.7 billion. The total construction area grew by 45.5% to 1.5 million square metres. The number of residential units covered by the permits issued increased by 65% — from 4,321 to 7,131.
In April, 639 building permits were issued, 10.7% more than in April last year. The total value of the projects amounted to €413 million, while their total area was 335.3 thousand square metres.
