Illegal caravans and structures begin to be removed from a beach in Larnaca

Authorities have launched an operation to remove illegally placed caravans and makeshift structures from the beach near Larnaca’s yacht club.

After the deadline given by the Ministry of Interior for the owners to vacate the area expired, the dismantling of the illegal structures began on Tuesday morning with police involvement.

According to the authorities, four caravans have already been removed from the beach, while large barriers have been installed at the entrance to restrict vehicle access.

Similar measures are also planned for the neighbouring beach, where wooden huts had been erected.

The decision to dismantle the structures was taken following residents’ complaints about cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the area, as well as restrictions on public access to the beach.
