Investors submit applications to EOA Larnaca for 30 hotels, a hospital and two data centres
The Larnaca District Local Government Organization (EOA) has received applications for planning permits for approximately 30 hotels and tourist facilities, one major hospital, three medical and rehabilitation centres, as well as two data centres and two battery energy storage facilities. This was announced by EOA Larnaca chairman Angelos Hadjicharalambous.

Most of the hotel projects are boutique hotels, while a major hospital is to be built by Lebanese investors. Applications have also been submitted separately for office and sports complexes. The projects are worth tens of millions of euros, and these figures do not include either investments at the site of the former oil refinery, estimated at hundreds of millions of euros, or cultural facilities planned under the “Larnaca 2030” programme.
Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras said that the city was negotiating with foreign investors on the creation of a hi-tech campus and technology institutes, while universities have also expressed interest. A hotel complex costing approximately €100 million is being built in Oroklini, while a major financial-sector company that expanded its operations from Limassol has opened an office on the road to Dhekelia.
Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Nakis Antoniou noted that investment in aircraft servicing and maintenance is continuing at the site of Larnaca’s old airport, with companies working on aircraft engines, while a Dutch company recently bought a major logistics operator. In addition to the Lebanese investors, an Indian company has expressed interest in building the hospital.
At the same time, Antoniou warned that the infrastructure serving the development is not keeping pace, especially in the Livadia area: the roads, sewerage system and water supply are not designed for such a rate of development, and the state should invest in them.
The Cabinet of Bahrain approved Larnaca’s twinning with Manama, making Larnaca the first city in Cyprus to be twinned with a city in the Persian Gulf. According to the RICS and KPMG index, Larnaca led Cyprus in residential property prices in the second quarter of 2026.
