Two arrested in Limassol over night robbery of 25-year-old food delivery courier

Cyprus police have arrested a 21-year-old and a 19-year-old in connection with the assault and robbery of a 25-year-old food delivery courier in the area of the village of Erimi, west of Limassol. Both were taken into custody under court warrants.

The assault took place at around 02:30 on Tuesday night. The courier was riding a motorcycle when two unknown individuals approached him. They beat the young man, took the motorcycle and a waist bag containing €100 in cash, and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Limassol General Hospital and was discharged after being examined and treated. The motorcycle was found the same day: it had been abandoned on wasteland in Limassol.

Limassol police officers and members of the Crime Prevention Unit gathered evidence against both suspects, after which the court issued arrest warrants. Less than 24 hours passed between the robbery and the arrests, and the investigation is continuing.
