A mass brawl in Xylophagou ended in a rampage

On the evening of July 8, a mass brawl took place in the village of Xylophagou, involving, according to local media, 15 to 20 people. Those involved in the conflict were armed with knives, metal rods, crowbars and other objects.

During the scuffle, the sides threw stones at each other, damaging a parked car.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the cars tried to ram the opposing side, but the driver lost control, crashed into an outbuilding next to a residential house and got stuck. After that, the people in the car fled, leaving behind two mobile phones, a bag and other personal belongings.

After the fight, police found a crowbar, hammers, a spirit level, bolt cutters and other items at the scene, which were allegedly used during the clash.

According to preliminary information, Syrians were involved in the conflict. By the time police arrived, all participants had fled. Law enforcement officers seized the car and the evidence, and also began identifying those involved.

There is still no official information about the injured or those detained. The investigation is ongoing.
