Troodos Mountains to host Mountain Games Cyprus from September 23 to 26
Mountain Games Cyprus will take place in the Troodos Mountains from September 23 to 26 — four days of sport, gastronomy, culture and wellness activities. The venues will be six mountain villages: Platres (Platres), Agros (Agros), Spilia (Spilia), Kakopetria (Kakopetria), Evrychou (Evrychou) and Omodos (Omodos).

The games are organised by the MountMed institute, a non-profit initiative funded through the EU Erasmus+ Sport programme. Eleven countries are taking part: Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
The four-day event will open in Platres on September 23 with an international scientific symposium on physical activity and public health. The programme will continue with mountain hikes, orienteering, a cycling festival and a football tournament for children under 12, as well as the Elevate Your Life programme with activities adapted for participants with visual impairments.
The cultural and gastronomic programme will include traditional dance and music workshops, performances by a female a cappella vocal ensemble, a traditional breakfast, wine tastings and halloumi-making workshops. Thirty local producers will showcase their products. There will also be mountain trail certification courses and a conference on mountain tourism.
Most events are free of charge; tickets are required only for selected evening programmes and invitation-only events. The programme is available at mountaingames.eu.
