Yellow warning declared in Cyprus due to thunderstorms
The Meteorological Service of the Republic of Cyprus has issued a yellow weather warning in connection with expected strong thunderstorms.
The warning is in effect today from 12:00 to 18:00.
According to forecasters, local severe thunderstorms are expected in the mountainous areas, inland areas of the island, as well as in the north of Cyprus. During the most intense rainfall, the amount of precipitation in some places may exceed 35 mm per hour.
The yellow warning level was issued this morning due to unstable weather conditions that will persist throughout the day.
