14 people detained overnight in Cyprus: 12 drivers were drunk
Cyprus Police conducted overnight raids and checks across the island to prevent crime and breaches of public order. Overnight, 14 people were detained on various charges, including robbery, assault causing bodily harm, drug possession, illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus, assaulting a police officer, as well as breaches of public order.
During road checks, police stopped 622 vehicles and checked 829 people. Checks were also carried out at 31 establishments. A total of 273 traffic violations were recorded. Of these, 105 were related to speeding.
