Two-week roadworks begin on key routes in Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos

From 12 to 26 June 2026, traffic arrangements will change on major highways in Cyprus and lanes will be partially closed due to scheduled maintenance of the road surface, protective barriers and vegetation trimming. The Public Works Department urges drivers to slow down, keep a safe distance and strictly follow the temporary road signs in the restricted areas.

On the Larnaca—Nicosia, Larnaca—Ayia Napa and Larnaca—Kofinou highways, work will take place from 15 to 26 June (excluding weekends) between 08:30 and 15:00, which will result in one lane being closed on 200-metre sections. In addition, on 12 June on the highway towards Kofinou, as well as from 15 to 18 June on the route to Ayia Napa, the restrictions will last until 16:30, and on certain sections up to 3 km long traffic will be temporarily narrowed and redirected to adjacent lanes. In Limassol on Saturday, 13 June, from 06:00 to 13:00, the fast lane in both directions will be closed in stages on the highway stretch to Paphos (from the New Port area to the Erimi junction). In the city itself, during the nights of 15 and 16 June from 20:00 to 05:30, the section from Ippokratous Avenue to the roundabout with Melina Mercouri Street will be fully closed for asphalt resurfacing.
