The Most Dangerous Road Sections in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police have identified 48 of the most accident-prone road sections based on an analysis of crashes with severe consequences over the period from 2023 to 2025. The largest number of dangerous zones was recorded in Nicosia (19 locations) and Larnaca (14 locations). In Limassol, 8 such points were identified, in Paphos — 5, and in the Famagusta district — 2.
The main accident hotspots in the capital were the intersection of Stasandrou, Pindarou and Androklous streets, as well as the busy avenues of Limassol, Athalassas, John Kennedy and 28th October. In other regions, the critical points named were the Kalo Chorio roundabout in Larnaca, the intersection of Franklin Roosevelt, Demokratias and Alexandrias avenues in Limassol, the intersection of Europis, Giannou Kranidioti and Egnatias avenues in Paphos, as well as the stretch between the 2nd and 3rd kilometers of the Sotira — Liopetri road in Famagusta.
At all of the listed sections, police control and patrols are planned to be intensified. In addition, the relevant authorities have already received a roadmap for engineering works, changes to traffic patterns and improvements in safety in these areas.
