Suspect in arson attack on bookmakers in Limassol admits to committing the crime for payment
In Limassol, law enforcement officers have solved the case of arson at a betting agency by detaining two young men aged twenty and twenty-one. During questioning, the younger of the two detainees fully admitted his guilt and told investigators that he carried out the arson deliberately in exchange for a cash reward from third parties. The crime was committed using an flammable substance, which caused serious material damage to the commercial premises located within the city limits.
Police were able to trace the offenders thanks to a detailed analysis of CCTV footage from the area where the incident took place. The cameras captured the movements of the suspects, as well as the car they used to flee the scene. During searches at the suspects' homes, investigators found and seized clothing that matched exactly what the arsonists were wearing when the crime was committed, as well as mobile phones, which are now being checked for links to those who ordered the arson. The court issued warrants for the arrest of both suspects to carry out further investigative actions and identify the organisers of the attack.
