Knife attack outside club in Ayia Napa

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at around 4:30 a mass brawl broke out near one of the nightclubs in Ayia Napa, leaving four people injured. Police are investigating the incident as a case of attempted murder.

Officers who arrived at the scene found four injured men: three Cypriot citizens, aged 22, 25 and 41, and one 22-year-old citizen of Israel. The most seriously injured was the 22-year-old Cypriot, who suffered life-threatening stab wounds and was taken to Paralimni Hospital. The Israeli man, who had injuries to his head and face, was also transported there. The other two men did not require hospitalization.

Police swiftly arrested a 21-year-old Israeli citizen. According to witness statements, he was the one who stabbed three people during the altercation. The weapon was seized at the scene by investigators as evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
