Paternity allowance in Cyprus: applications accepted online only from 30 June
In Cyprus, as of 30 June 2026, applications for paternity allowance have been moved to the government portal in an online format. Paper applications will stop being accepted after 6 July 2026, except in cases where citizens are unable to create an account in the CY Login system.
The payment from the Social Insurance Fund is available to insured fathers (in the event of childbirth, adoption of a child up to 12 years old, or surrogacy) and amounts to 72% of the average weekly earnings for the previous year, if the employer does not maintain the salary. The allowance covers two weeks of paternity leave. Advice is available by phone at 1450.
