Troodos forest fire extinguished in seven minutes
The fire that broke out in the Troodos state forest near the village of Agios Mamas was brought completely under control in just seven minutes thanks to the prompt action of firefighters and staff from the Department of Forests.
The blaze started at 12:03 and covered a small area of low wild vegetation. By 12:10, the fire had been fully extinguished.
Four Department of Forests employees with two fire engines, as well as one two-person fire service crew, took part in extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
