Fire in Liopetri caused by gas leak: one person injured
A fire broke out yesterday evening in one of the premises in the livestock zone of Liopetri, in the Famagusta district.
Fire service personnel arrived at the scene, but the blaze had been extinguished by the occupants before their arrival. Firefighters completed the extinguishing operation and ventilated the premises.
As a result of the fire and exposure to high temperatures, the contents of the premises sustained significant damage.
One person was taken by ambulance to the emergency department of Famagusta State Hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a gas leak from a gas heater.
