Fuel sales in Cyprus decline as stocks fall by nearly 20%
In June 2026, Cyprus recorded a decline in petroleum product sales, the Statistical Service reports. Fuel sales at filling stations fell by 1.4% compared with the previous period, totalling 59,271 tonnes.
Total petroleum product sales amounted to 129,479 tonnes, 8% less than in June 2025. The most notable declines were recorded in fuel deliveries for ships — down 14.1% — and aircraft — down 13.7% — as well as in sales of kerosene (-51%), light fuel oil (-44.2%), heating fuel (-16.8%), bitumen (-12.2%) and diesel fuel (-2.4%). At the same time, petrol sales increased by 1.8% and heavy fuel oil sales by 74.8%.
Compared with May 2026, total petroleum product sales increased by 1.5%. Deliveries of fuel for aircraft and ships rose, as did sales of diesel fuel and petrol.
Petroleum product stocks at the end of June fell by 19.6% compared with the end of the previous month. In the first six months of 2026, total petroleum product sales increased by 1.2% compared with the same period last year.
