Lufthansa Flight from Munich to Tel Aviv Diverted to Larnaca

According to Israeli media, a Lufthansa flight from Munich to Tel Aviv was diverted to Larnaca. Israeli Channel 12 reported that the "crew was not prepared for a flight to Israel."

The airline initially informed passengers that the plane would land in Cyprus due to "technical reasons" and that a decision would be made about whether to continue to Tel Aviv.

However, after a brief stay on the ground, it was announced that the plane would return to Germany.

Passengers were given the option to disembark in Cyprus if they wished, but their luggage would remain on the plane and be returned to Germany.

The airline told Channel 12 that the diversion to Cyprus was a "precautionary measure."

Meanwhile, amid escalating regional tensions following deadly attacks in Beirut and Tehran, several airlines have suspended flights to Israel. United Airlines, Delta Airlines, and British Airways have all announced such suspensions.

The cancellations followed the high-profile assassinations of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah military commander Fouad Shukr in Beirut.

These incidents have significantly heightened regional tensions, leading airlines to take precautionary measures amid the threat of retaliatory strikes by Iran and its allies in the region. Flights to Beirut have also been suspended due to concerns over potential Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
