Average salaries in Cyprus rose by 3.7%

The average gross monthly salary of workers in Cyprus reached €2,601 in the first quarter of 2026, which is 3.7% higher than in the same period last year.

According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the average salary was €2,508 in the first quarter of 2025. After seasonal adjustment, the increase compared with the fourth quarter of 2025 was 0.8%.

The average gross monthly income of men is estimated at €2,776, while that of women is €2,378. Over the year, men’s salaries rose by 3.3% and women’s by 4.2%.

The largest group of workers earns between €1,500 and €2,999 per month — 40.9% of all employees.

A total of 33.9% of workers earn less than €1,500. Among Cypriot citizens, this figure is 27.4%, compared with 46.7% among foreign workers.

A total of 13.1% of workers earn between €3,000 and €4,499, 6.4% earn between €4,500 and €5,999, and 5.7% earn more than €6,000.

Income distribution varies by citizenship: among Cypriots, the largest share of workers is concentrated in the €1,500–€2,999 category, while among non-Cypriot citizens, the share of those earning less than €1,500 is higher.
