Trade turnover between Cyprus and Greece reached €3.3 billion in 2025

Total trade in goods between Cyprus and Greece amounted to €3.3 billion in 2025. This was announced by Cyprus’s Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Michalis Damianos, ahead of a meeting with Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Haris Theocharis, scheduled for Monday.

Theocharis is responsible in the Greek government for economic diplomacy and external economic relations. According to Damianos, the meeting will focus primarily on trade issues as part of efforts to further strengthen the already close economic ties between the two countries.

“The meeting is largely constructive in nature and is aimed at further strengthening the already close economic and trade relations between Cyprus and Greece,” the minister said. He explained that the discussion would focus on the part of his ministry’s remit relating to international trade: Greece remains an important partner for Cyprus both in imports and exports.

Foreign policy issues will not be raised at the meeting, Damianos clarified.

Responding to a question about energy cooperation between Cyprus and Israel, prompted by Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s recent visit to the island, Damianos said that they had briefly discussed the Aphrodite and Ishai gas fields and the electricity interconnector project at the airport. According to the minister, the conversation was largely protocolar in nature.
