Three Men Sentenced to Life for the Murder of a Notorious Crime Boss in Cyprus

The Permanent Criminal Court of Nicosia has handed down life sentences to three men involved in the murder of 34-year-old Dimitris Andronikos, widely known as Dimitroui.

The convicted individuals are 30-year-old Omar Suleiman, 28-year-old Mohammad Al Agka, and 26-year-old Mohammad Kasab. All three admitted to their roles in the crime, with the latter two identifying Suleiman as the mastermind behind the attack.

This follows the October sentencing of 42-year-old Yasser Arar, who was also given a life sentence for aiding the shooter’s escape from the scene after the fatal shot was fired.

The attack took place on the Anthoupoli-Palechori road in the Lakatamia area on April 23, when Andronikos was riding his motorcycle after visiting Central Prison. The assailant, also on a motorcycle, fired three shots at him.

Andronikos sustained a serious neck injury and was hospitalized, where doctors fought for his life.

On May 16, 24 days after the attack, Andronikos regained consciousness, and his condition showed promising improvement. However, despite medical efforts, his life could not be saved.
