Three Family Cars Completely Burned in Aradippou Following Overnight Arson
Larnaca police, together with the Fire Service of the Republic of Cyprus, are conducting a large-scale investigation into an intentional arson attack that led to the destruction of three vehicles belonging to members of the same family. The incident occurred deep into the night in a residential area of Aradippou, where the cars parked near a private house were suddenly engulfed in flames. Fire crews who arrived at the scene quickly contained and extinguished the blaze, but due to the rapid spread of the fire, all three vehicles suffered critical damage and were completely burned out, beyond repair.
During the initial inspection of the scene and the vehicle debris, experts from the relevant services found clear traces of the use of flammable substances, which allowed the incident to be officially classified as a malicious arson attack. Investigators immediately cordoned off the surrounding area, began collecting physical evidence and seizing footage from external surveillance cameras installed on nearby buildings. At present, officers are conducting detailed interviews with the owners of the destroyed property in an effort to determine whether they had received threats and whether the incident is linked to their professional or personal activities.
Official police representatives say the investigation is considering several possible motives for the crime, including personal revenge, financial disputes or criminal score-settling. Law enforcement authorities have appealed to local residents who may have noticed suspicious activity or the movement of unknown individuals in the Aradippou area immediately before the fire began, asking them to provide any information they may have anonymously. Oversight of the progress of this high-profile investigation has been handed over to the leadership of the Larnaca district police.
