A new private hospital to be built in Dromolaxia-Meneou

A new modern private hospital will be established in the municipality of Dromolaxia-Meneou in Larnaca District. The Environmental Authority of the Republic of Cyprus has approved the project to redevelop the Eden Medical Center in Tersefanu.

The project, valued at around €1 million, involves converting the existing rehabilitation and palliative care centre into a multidisciplinary hospital with 95 beds. Construction work is expected to take approximately eight months.

As part of the project, two existing buildings will be renovated, a connecting passage between them will be constructed, the wards will be converted, and new sanitary facilities and changing rooms will be created.

Once the work is completed, the hospital will provide inpatient care and rehabilitation services in more than five medical fields. Services will include — post-operative rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Eden Medical Center opened in 2018 and was used to accommodate patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2025, it was acquired by the Ygeia Group, which is developing a network of private medical facilities in Cyprus.

Kypros Andronikou, mayor of the municipality, welcomed the investment, noting that the development of modern medical infrastructure would benefit not only the municipality but the entire Larnaca region.
