Cats die in Giolou after suspected poisoning

The Giolou Community Council in the Paphos district has reported cases of cats dying, allegedly as a result of poisoned bait placed within the community.

According to a statement by the council, the use of poison is illegal and unacceptable, as such actions pose a threat not only to animals but also to people’s health and safety.

The community authorities condemned the incident and said that, if those responsible are identified, all measures provided for by law will be taken in cooperation with the competent authorities.

Giolou residents were urged to report any suspicious activity, as well as any instances of poisonous substances being found, to the Community Council or the police.
