Another 10 residential buildings in Larnaca to be declared dangerous

Larnaca authorities are preparing to declare another ten residential buildings dangerous, including a large apartment building where dozens of people live. This was announced by the Larnaca Regional Local Government Organization.

According to the latest data, there are 1,084 potentially dangerous buildings in the district. After technical inspections, 204 properties have already been declared dangerous, and 116 of them are in critical condition and may collapse.

To date, eight residential buildings have already been declared dangerous, including five blocks of the Philanta residential complex, where several hundred people live. If owners begin addressing the violations identified, the authorities will not seek forced evacuation.

According to experts, the cost of works to eliminate the danger at just 209 inspected properties amounts to about €5.94 million.

The authorities are urging building owners to cooperate with technical services and promptly remedy the problems identified. Residents are also asked to report buildings that may pose a safety threat.
