In Larnaca, a robber posing as a courier attacked a jewelry store owner
This morning in Larnaca, an unknown man dressed as a food delivery courier attempted to rob a jewelry store.
According to police, at around 9:00 a.m. a man dressed in black, wearing a delivery service vest and a motorcycle helmet with his face fully covered entered the store and, threatening with a pistol, demanded valuables from the 73-year-old owner.
The shop owner resisted. In response, the attacker struck him on the head with the pistol, causing a laceration. Despite this, the 73-year-old man managed to push the intruder out of the store.
The criminal fled in a car that was waiting for him at the entrance. Preliminary information indicates that a accomplice was behind the wheel, allegedly a foreign national.
The injured man was taken to hospital, where he received stitches. After receiving medical care, he is expected to be discharged.
The scene has been cordoned off. The investigation is being carried out by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of Larnaca police.
