In Larnaca, suspect tried to flee from police and crashed into three cars
An incident involving a chase occurred in Larnaca during a drug enforcement operation: a 31-year-old man tried to flee from police officers and crashed into three police vehicles.
Police officers were conducting a search at premises belonging to a 32-year-old man. When a car arrived at the scene, officers signalled to the driver to stop, but he tried to evade the check. As a result, the car collided with three police vehicles. One officer from the Drug Squad suffered an arm injury. After receiving first aid at Larnaca General Hospital, he was discharged.
During a search of the 31-year-old driver's car, officers found 24 grams of cannabis, a grinder containing traces of the drug, precision scales and €100. Later, the 32-year-old man arrived at the premises. During a search conducted in his presence, police found a portable cooler containing five packages of cannabis with a total weight of 910 grams.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old man's 23-year-old relative had earlier been arrested at the house. Four firecrackers, two signal flares and €13,250 in cash were found in his room.
All three men were arrested. The items found were seized as evidence. The investigation is being continued by the Drug Squad and Kofinou Police Station.
