Nearly 11 kilograms of drugs seized in Limassol

In Limassol, police discovered nearly 11 kilograms of narcotic substances as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. Two suspects, aged 23 and 28, have been arrested again in connection with the case.

The searches were conducted with the participation of the British Bases police after information was received from the Cypriot Anti-Drug Service (ΥΚΑΝ). The cache was located in an area under the control of the British Bases.

Law enforcement officers seized about 1.98 kg of cocaine, 8.93 kg of cannabis, 100 grams of hashish and 4.7 grams of methamphetamine.

At the request of the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, all the discovered drugs were handed over to the ΥΚΑΝ unit for further analysis.

The 23-year-old and 28-year-old suspects, previously arrested on July 2 in the same case, were arrested again by court order. On July 10, they will be brought before the District Court of Limassol to consider extending their remand in custody.
