Courier attacked in Limassol — but he was the one detained for illegal residence
In Limassol, three unidentified men carried out an armed attack on a 23-year-old delivery courier. The assailants stopped the cyclist at night on Omonia Avenue and demanded that he hand over the order. After he refused, they beat the man with a metal object, stabbed him in the abdomen, took 150 euros in cash and fled. The victim was hospitalized at the city hospital with injuries and a stab wound.
During the investigation, police established that the delivery worker was in Cyprus illegally. The man was arrested for illegal residence in the Republic. Law enforcement authorities continue to search for the attackers.
