Jeweler and burglar detained in Limassol in theft case
On the morning of June 21, police in Mouttagiaka detained a 34-year-old burglar. He was chased by local residents, after which the suspect, injured while fleeing, gave himself up. The man confessed to 13 thefts in Limassol and Pissouri worth tens of thousands of euros, and also said that he had been handing over the stolen goods to a 53-year-old jeweler at €60 per gram.
The jeweler was swiftly arrested, with gold and cash seized from his store. On June 22, the Limassol court remanded the burglar in custody for eight days and the fence for five. Police are searching for the other accomplices, including a woman.
