Chapel fire in Limassol caused by lit candles
A chapel caught fire overnight in the Kolossi area of Limassol. The fire service received a report of the blaze at 00:30.
The fire started near the donation box, next to which lit candles had been left. A fire crew arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze fully under control by 01:29.
As a result of the fire, the electrical wiring and part of the chapel's exterior finish were damaged.
According to the fire service, the blaze was caused by burning candles left unattended.
