Drunk tourist attacks and bites police officer in Limassol

On Monday at around 9:00 a.m. in Limassol, a passerby noticed a heavily intoxicated woman on the sidewalk and called the police. The patrol officers who arrived at the scene were unable to establish her identity, as the 40-year-old foreign woman was unable to communicate. The tourist was taken to the local Agios Ioannis police station.

At the station, the woman caused a scene, began shouting and insulting officers. Attempts to calm the detained woman failed: she attacked one of the police officers, pushed him and bit him on the left forearm. An investigation into the attack is under way.
