Mother in Limassol remains in custody over attempted murder of child
A court in Limassol has ordered a 41-year-old foreign national to remain in custody, accused of the attempted murder of her 7-year-old son.
According to the investigation, in February, the woman gave her child sedative pills and took some herself. The father found them unconscious and rushed them to the hospital.
The court rejected the request for bail, citing the gravity of the charges and the risk of flight. The woman could face life imprisonment.
Evidence includes the child's testimony and medication packaging found in the home. The trial is scheduled for mid-May.
The accused will remain in custody until the trial.
