Two Suspects Detained in Limassol Over Bakery Robbery

The Cyprus Republic Police have detained two young men, aged 19 and 20, on suspicion of robbing a bakery in Limassol in the early hours of July 11.

After receiving operational intelligence, law enforcement officers carried out searches and seized evidence related to the case. During questioning, the suspects made statements that are now being verified. Police, meanwhile, believe the case has been solved.

According to investigators, around 03:30 one of the perpetrators entered the bakery and attempted to steal the cash drawer. He was spotted by a driver who had come to pick up goods. Together with a bakery employee, they tried to detain the robber, but he managed to flee with the till, which contained about 300 euros.

According to police, the second man was waiting outside on a motorcycle. After the robbery, they fled the scene.

The suspects will appear in court, where police will request their detention for the duration of the investigation.
