Unknown assailants fired at a 43-year-old man’s car in Nicosia

Unknown assailants carried out an armed attack on a 43-year-old man of Arab origin in the Atalassa area of Nicosia. According to police, the attackers opened fire on the rented car as he was driving from Aglantzia to Geri.

Despite the numerous shots, the driver was not injured. He did not stop at the scene and contacted the police several hours later.

After receiving the report, investigators and forensic experts examined the scene and the vehicle. Numerous bullet holes were found in the car’s bodywork. Physical evidence was collected and will be sent for examination.

Investigators are determining what type of weapon was used in the shooting and are also searching for surveillance camera footage that could help identify the attackers and establish the motive for the crime.

According to the police’s preliminary assessment, the incident may have been an attempted murder.
