Cannabis grow operation discovered in Nicosia: 35-year-old man arrested
Police in Nicosia District arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of growing cannabis in a specially equipped room in a residential building.
During a search of one of the bedrooms, police officers discovered two grow tents containing nine cannabis plants ranging from 115 to 190 centimetres in height.
In addition, law enforcement officers seized more than 1.6 kilograms of cannabis, approximately 90 grams of a white powder believed to be cocaine, as well as electronic scales. According to police, the room was equipped with special systems for controlling temperature and humidity. An irrigation system and other equipment allegedly used to grow cannabis plants were also found.
The detainee is expected to appear before a court on Monday.
