30-year-old man hospitalised in Nicosia after attack: two arrested

Police in Nicosia have arrested a 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in connection with an attack on a 30-year-old man.

The incident occurred at around 04:00 in one of Nicosia’s districts. Police officers who arrived at the scene found the victim with an abdominal injury. The man was taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where he underwent a medical examination and was admitted for treatment. According to doctors, his condition is not life-threatening.

During the investigation, police obtained evidence against the 38-year-old man, who was arrested under a court warrant. The 34-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting after the commission of a serious offence.

Both suspects are expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court for consideration of their remand in custody.

The investigation is being conducted by the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department.
