Volleyball Players Attacked in Paphos: Four Suspects Arrested
Several players from the Pafiakos volleyball team were brutally assaulted in Paphos, with police arresting four suspects in connection with the attack.
According to police reports, the incident occurred early Sunday morning outside a nightclub where the team was celebrating their National Cup victory. Initial information suggests that a group of bar patrons asked to take a photo with the trophy but then refused to return it.
A heated argument quickly escalated into a violent brawl, leaving five players injured. All were taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that two had suffered fractures.
As part of the investigation, police arrested four suspects—two 21-year-olds, a 22-year-old, and a 24-year-old. They are set to appear in court today for a remand hearing.
